From tea to bottle

How it is made

Kombucha takes two to three weeks from first brew to cold bottle.

  1. A cup of brewed tea surrounded by loose tea leaves1

    Brew the tea

Loose-leaf tea is steeped and sweetened with cane sugar, then cooled.

  2. A kombucha culture fermenting in a large glass jar2

    First ferment

A live culture (SCOBY) ferments the sweet tea for one to two weeks, until it tastes right.

  3. A swing-top bottle of pink kombucha on linen with pomegranates and a glass over ice3

    Flavor and bottle

Fruit, herbs or spices go in, and a second ferment in the bottle builds natural fizz.

  4. Jars and bottles of homemade drinks on a porch shelf in the garden4

    Chill and share

Bottles are chilled and set aside for pickup or delivery.
